Palace gardens, Pizza Hut & personal computers (part II)

I left off after the Changdeokgung palace in Anguk/Bukchon (pictures below tell a bit about Bukchon). But we left the palace by 4:00pm, so what else did our Sunday hold? Wonderful question! The last two-thirds of today's title shall be revealed subsequently.

After we were all palace-ed & knowledge-ed out, Taylor had a great idea; Yongsam! A HUGE (over 8,000 stores) discount/wholesale electronics market just a few stops of the subway away! So we hopped on the Anguk line & zipped over.

W.O.W.

The huge electronics market was nestled into an even more monstrous mall where I could probably spend three days comfortably at least; the I-Mall of Yongsam 😮

But before exploring the mall, Taylor & I needed sustenance! And Taylor was craving western, lo & behold a TGIF was on the 7th floor! But before we made it there, we spotted a Pizza Hut which called our names even more seductively, & thus, the second title of this post!

The pizza was quite good, but remember, this particular Pizza Hut was on the 7th floor, & we got a window booth! This is the best view from a Pizza Hut we will ever have!

Pictures don't do it justice, but it was quite cool! 😎

After we were full of Korean-BBQ-chicken-cheese-stuffed-crust-pizza, we went into the daunting hubbub of electronics retail with one goal in mind; computers! Since Taylor has not had a laptop since sophomore year of college & mine was recently stolen by an ambitious crack-addict in Grand Rapids, we both wanted to get a personal computer that would have capabilities for gaming (LOL, most Steam games, WOW, ect), but would also be portable...as we are currently not exactly 'settled' into a long-term part of our lives. So we searched, & we searched, & we asked people with very little english what kind of graphics cards their laptops had (& of course, no integrated, please!) & what kind of processors they used, blah, blah, blah. But finally, we found a pair of laptops that were suitable...a Lenovo Y50 series for Taylor & a higher end HP Pavilion for me. But now...price! Taylor & I have been putting quite a dent in our American Express card since our arrival, as we want to keep sufficient funds in our American bank accounts for our student loans, car payments, ect, & since we do not receive our first paycheck from work until the 10th...of next month (April) 😁

So Taylor stepped aside & let me haggle, & boy did I haggle! But we got the price I wanted for the two laptops 😆 Which are being hand-delivered to our front door by the owner at 9:00pm Monday evening after work, fully equipped with english settings & the latest Windows. Pictures to come of our new electronic babies 😄

My next big-ish purchase (AFTER we get paid) will be a nice camera for all the photos I will be shooting here 😀 -Bonnie & Britney, feel free to give me pointers in this area please!

Lastly we saw a wall made up of stickers! Everyone that passed seemed to grab one of the little white circles & draw an anime/cartoon figure on it & then stick it to the wall, it was a very neat expression of community art!

On the 9th floor of the mall (top) there was an 'E-sports' stadium! Though it was locked so we couldn't go inside, but we are guessing some LOL qualifying games, ect are held there 😀

That's all for now, kids!
Talk to you soon!
Much love!
